Professional services firm KPMG India has promoted Richard Rekhy, COO, advisory as CEO of KPMG India. Rekhy replaces Russell Parera, who continues to be within the organisation in another role. Parera was CEO of the company for the past six years.
"I have led the India firm over the last six years. As I hand over the baton to Richard, the firm is poised to further grow under Richard's leadership," says Parera.
Rekhy joined the company in 2004 as head of RAS Practice. He was promoted as COO, advisory in 2006. He led the advisory practice, making it one of the biggest advisory practices within the global KPMG network.
Rekhy started his career with RSM & Co in 1983. He moved out of the company in 1996 as managing partner, North India. In 1997, Rekhy joined Arthur Andersen as partner in the assurance and business advisory practice.
In 2002, however, he shifted to join EY, Bangalore as partner in the Risk & Business Solutions (RABS) Group. From there on, he shifted to KPMG as head of RAS Practice in 2004.
