This is Piparsania's second stint at Ford India. Earlier, he was vice-president, marketing and sales at Ford Group, Philippines.
Ford India has brought in Vinay Piparsania as executive director, marketing, sales and service (MS&S). Based in Ford India's Gurgaon office, he will report to Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India.
Piparsania will assume his new role on September 1.
At Ford India, he will spearhead marketing, sales and customer service operations as Ford will launch eight new models in India by the middle of the decade and continue to focus on strengthening its sales and service network.
Piparsania was working as vice-president, marketing and sales at Ford Group Philippines, where he was responsible for overseeing the launch readiness and dealer development activities for the introduction of the all-new Ford Ranger, Ford Focus and the Ford Mustang, and building the dealership network.
In an official communiqué, Boneham says, "We are pleased to welcome Vinay back to Ford India. His extensive marketing experience, along with the rich regional perspective that he has gained from his various positions across markets in the Asia Pacific and Africa region, will surely help us go further with our brand and business in India."
This is Piparsania's second stint at Ford India. He joined the company in 1996 as general manager, sales, and played a key role to establish the Ford dealer network across the country. Later, as vice-president, marketing, sales and service and external affairs, Piparsania managed Ford's brand image in India through several product launches including Endeavour, Classic SXi and Fusion.
His other assignments include a stint as director, planning, distribution and fleet, Ford Asia Pacific and Africa, based in Bangkok, where he led sales, production and distribution planning, supporting 12 APA markets.
Piparsania holds a mechanical engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and an MBA from the Tulane University in the US.
