The two days of league matches in the Mumbai leg of AMCL saw exciting action, with seasoned teams getting a hard hit on the knuckles and youngsters helping their sides win with determination.

OMD versus Madison

The first encounter of the day was between OMD and Madison. OMD won the toss and decided to bat first. Anand and Bubalan opened the inning for Team OMD and struck a strong partnership. While Anand completed a half-century and scored 54 runs (off 27 balls, 6X4, 1X6), Bubalan scored 37 runs (off 18 balls, 3X4, 2X6). The rest of the team couldn't help much and fizzled away unnoticed. Team OMD set a target of 115 runs by losing five wickets.

Team Madison tried its best to live up to the challenge thrown by the opponents but couldn't breach the target. It wrapped the inning at 102 runs. Santosh of Team OMD clinched two wickets, giving away 23 runs in two overs. However, it was his team mate, Anand, who walked away with the Man of the Match title for his all-round performance. Team OMD won the face-off by 12 runs.

DDB Mudra versus GroupM (A)

The next match of the day was between DDB Mudra and GroupM (A). The former won the toss and decided to bat. Opening the attack of Team Mudra, Suman and Pinaki looked determined to win the match. The openers displayed a strong partnership and scored 25 runs (off 21 balls, 2X4) and 22 runs (off 14 balls, 3X4) respectively. Team Mudra set a target of 105 runs. Prasad of Team GroupM grabbed two wickets, giving away 25 runs in three overs. Sameer, who led the batting order of Team GroupM, scored 22 runs off 12 balls (2X4).

Bowlers from Team Mudra proved tricky, with Sanjay Pandey clinching three wickets, while Yogesh and Abdullah made merry with two each. The bowling brigade restrained the opponents to just 65 runs. Team Mudra won the match by 39 runs and Sanjay Pandey was declared the Man of the Match.

Day 2 - Dentsu versus Law & Kenneth

The first match of Day 2 was between Dentsu and Law & Kenneth. The former won the toss and decided to bat. Setting a target of 77 runs for the opponents, the side couldn't pose any threat to the chasing team. Team Law & Kenneth breached the set target in a little more than six overs. Vinayak of Team Law & Kenneth was unfortunate to miss his half-century. He scored 46 off 21 balls (7X4, 1X6). Shrikesh of Team Dentsu proved to be a costly bowler, as he ceded 20 runs in six balls. Team Law & Kenneth won the match conveniently by five wickets and Vinayak was adjudged the Man of the Match for his batting performance, which brought triumph closer.

Interactive Avenues (B) versus Lodestar

The next match of the tournament was between Interactive Avenues (B) and Lodestar. The former won the toss and decided to wield the bat first. Openers Mayur and Shreyas scored 38 runs (off 28 balls, 7X4) and 21 runs (off 14 balls, 3X4) respectively. Mayur was declared out for a leg before wicket. With a noteworthy batting line-up, Team Interactive set a target of 116 runs. Team Lodestar gave away 26 runs as extras, which proved costly by the end of the match.

Bowlers of Team Interactive were not as generous. They ceded eight runs as extras. Sachin Salvi and Arun took two wickets each, giving away 22 runs (three overs) and 9 runs (one over), respectively. Team Lodestar wrapped up at just 52 runs. The opponents won the match by a wide margin of 63 runs and Mayur was declared the Man of the Match.

Madison versus Bates

The next face-off was between Madison and Bates. Bates won the toss and decided to take to bowling. Prashant and Renold opened the inning for Team Madison, but the former went back without even opening his account. Renold, on the other hand, missed a half-century by a whisker. He scored 49 runs (off 35 runs, 4X4). Team Madison could garner 82 runs losing seven wickets. The opposing team met the target easily in 6.4 overs. Vishal Parab was the player to look out for. He grabbed a wicket and also scored a half-century (in 20 balls, 9X4). Team Bates won the match by seven wickets and Parab was declared the Man of the Match.

BBC versus Multi Screen Media

The last match of the day was between BBC and Multi Screen Media. The latter won the toss and decided to bowl first. Altaf, the opening batsman from team BBC, scored 33 runs (off 28 balls, 5X4), but the rest of the team couldn't perform well. The team wrapped up its inning at just 59 runs, losing five wickets. Venkatesh, Ameya and Vishal of Team Multi Screen Media took a wicket each.

OThe opening pair of Team MSM, Ameya and Vishal came on the pitch with a determination to wrap up the match themselves. They stayed put on crease and displayed a mature partnership, helping their side win the encounter. Ameya scored 35 runs (off 15 balls, 7X4) and Vishal scored 23 runs (off 10 balls, 3X4, 1X6). Team Multi Screen Media won the match by seven wickets. Ameya Jadhav was adjudged the Man of the Match for his measured batting performance.
