Tarun Nigam, chief operating officer at Vivaki Partnerships Unit (VPU) has put in his papers at the agency. Nigam's last day at Vivaki is December 31.

While his next venture is still unknown, Nigam is moving on from the agency to explore better media opportunities.

Talking about his journey at Vivaki, Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), Nigam tells afaqs!, "Vivaki's journey was very short. The exciting part of the journey was with Starcom; Ravi Kiran and CVL Srinivas are two people who moulded me and made me what I am today. I owe it to the Starcom Group and these two people who have played a critical role in my journey at the agency. The place has given me a lot of learnings.

"I have worked with the group for close to seven years now. It's high time I move on and search for greener pastures. Media is exploding with opportunities, especially on the digital front, so the thought is to explore something new!"

Nigam joined Starcom MediaVest Group in 2007 as executive director before taking on the role of VPU COO in October, 2012.

Nigam has more than 19 years of experience in the industry. Before joining SMG, he was with GroupM for several years. He had also worked with Mindshare from 1999 to 2004 as investment director, with Maxus from 2004 to 2006 as senior business director and with Mediacom from January 2007 to March 2007 as general manager.

Earlier, he had also worked with UTV as senior manager (1995-99).

He has a Masters degree in business administration (marketing) from Philippine Christian University.
