AV Max completes 10 years; dons new look

Infomedia18's audio-video magazine AV Max completes 10 years; masthead becomes bigger

Audio-video magazine AV Max, from the house of Infomedia18, has completed 10 years of its existence in the country. In a bid to mark its 10th anniversary, the company has given a facelift to the magazine with a bigger masthead.

Sandeep Khosla, chief executive officer, publishing, Infomedia18, tells afaqs!, "The new cover design is a lot more open, without borders and the new AV Max logo is taller and leaner, because of which it can be noticed in a crowd of magazines; the cover, too, has a premium look. The new cover design also allows us to showcase more stories on the cover, informing the reader that there is a whole lot to be read in the magazine."

The company has also made changes in the content, with sections such as Buyer's Guide being reinvented, apart from other sections such as FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions), Resale and Hi-Fi. Khosla adds, "Home entertainment as a subject is very vast and at times, intimidating. With our product reviews, we have seen to it that we provide maximum possible information to our readers. However, from the number of queries that we receive, we realised that it's not enough. What a reader needs is directions on how to go about it -- looking for the right product and where to look for it. Hence we reworked certain sections."

Infomedia18 has planned a 360 degree media campaign to promote the new look, which includes television promos across five channels of Network18 -- CNBC TV18, CNBC Awaaz, CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN Lokmat; and an integration with relevant properties such as Tech Toyz. A digital campaign will also be launched, using Web18 properties such as Tech2.com, In.com and Chip.in, apart from advertising in male focused magazines such as Overdrive, Chip and T3. The special issue will also be promoted through branding at select modern trade outlets such as Landmark and Crossword.

With an overhaul in look and content, the company has also increased the cover price from Rs 75 to Rs 100. Infomedia18 claims to have a circulation figure in the range of 75,000-80,000 copies and is now aiming for 1 lakh copies by 2011.
