Disney Publishing Worldwide (India), a division of The Walt Disney Company (India), has signed a multi-year license agreement with the India Today Group for publishing and distributing licensed Disney content by way of magazines in India. The content will be based on some of the popular franchises including Disney Princess, Disney.Pixar Cars, Art Attack, Disney Junior and much more.
India Today will publish and distribute licensed Disney content in this country.
Ashish Bagga, group chief executive officer, India Today Group, says, "We are delighted to work with Disney Publishing and provide young readers with great content. More than one third of India is young and about 333 million people of this segment are literate. We are excited about serving this vast youth population with a range of colourful, entertaining and engaging stories."
"We will leverage the strength of our existing asset through our networks and eventually earn more money by collaborating with Disney and increasing the number of magazines."
Ranging from Rs 50 to Rs100, Disney magazines will be available on stands and through subscriptions. The frequency will be a mix of single edition, monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly, depending on the product.
