Roy replaces Srinivasan Swamy; Monica Tata is elected vice-president.
At its Annual General Meeting (AGM), the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association has elected Neeraj Roy, managing director and CEO, Hungama Digital Media, as its president. Roy replaces Srinivasan Swamy, chairman of R K Swamy Hansa Group. Swamy was elected president of the India chapter for four consecutive terms. Roy becomes president after being vice-president for three consecutive terms.
Speaking about the development, Roy says in a press release, "Over the past few years, the International Advertising Association in India has played a key role in bringing the media, marketing, and advertising community together, and I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to serve as president. On behalf of our new team and management committee, I would like to thank Srinivasan K Swamy for his stellar leadership over the past few years. We look forward to serve the ever-changing needs of the marketing and advertising fraternity as India is at the cusp of a digital transformation that will impact all aspects of life."
Monica Tata, chief operating officer, BTVi, who has been elected as vice-president, IAA, India Chapter, says, "I am humbled and honoured to have been given this opportunity and look forward to be part of the next phase of IAA under the new leadership."
Pradeep Dwivedi, former chief marketing officer of The Dainik Bhaskar Group, has been elected as secretary. "There has never been a better time for our industry to evolve and transform itself. I look forward to work with industry leaders to sustain the rich legacy of past IAA initiatives and contribute to new ones," says Dwivedi.
Jaideep Gandhi, chairman, Jaya Advertising, was elected as treasurer.
In addition, Ashok Venkatramani, chief executive officer, ABP News, Janak Sarda, director, Daily Deshdoot, Abhishek Karnani, director, Indian National Press (BOM), Shreyams Kumar, director, Mathrubhumi PTG & PBG, and Anand Sankeshwar, managing director, VRL Media, have been elected as members of the managing committee.
2016-17 marks the 27th year of IAA India.
