Sandeep Amar has joined The Indian Express Group as chief executive officer, Indian Express Digital. He will lead all digital initiatives for the Group. Prior to this, he was the chief executive officer at India.com.
Amar has earlier worked at Times Internet, Citigroup, Zee Entertainment, Hindustan Times, and The Times of India. Amar, who is an alumnus of FMS (Faculty of Management Studies), Delhi, and is a Six Sigma black belt, will operate from The Indian Express' state-of-the-art multi-media newsroom at the Express Building, Noida. He will report to Anant Goenka, wholetime director and head - new media, Express Group.
Speaking on this development, Amar says in a press release, "I am excited to join The Indian Express Group. It is a great opportunity for me. The Group has been an inspiration in terms of quality of journalism for everyone working in the media space, and has grown tremendously in the digital medium: four-40 million unique visitors in four years is no small feat."
He further adds, "I hope to further grow the reach of Express' path-breaking journalism in India, as well as internationally, and accelerate the revenue growth with that."
