Global firm Kaltura is the platform provider; Mobile applications are being developed by Robosoft Technologies
Viacom18 Digital Ventures today announced the line-up of technical partners for its soon-to-launch over-the-top (OTT) streaming service platform Voot.
Kaltura, a global major in OTT and video streaming services, is on board as the platform provider. The company is building several customised features for VOOT, with the objective to be unique and relevant for the Indian market.
For the User Experience (UE) and User Interface (UI) design, Viacom18 has roped in the US-based A Different Engine (ADE), a company which specialises in building UX/UI for large multi-platform video streaming services.
While Web Dunia is on board for web services and website development, it will also play the role of a system integrator. Mobile applications are being developed by Indian developer Robosoft Technologies.
Speaking on the partnerships, Gaurav Gandhi, COO, Viacom18 Digital Ventures, states, "In this business, product and technology play a pivotal role. While we work towards bringing popular and engaging content in this space for our viewers, we are equally focussed on working with the best technology, and design partners to build a world-class, differentiated product with superlative user experience."
Voot, an ad-supported VOD service, aims to cater to the constant content consumption needs of the always-on-digital generation. In addition to showcasing the content produced and aired by Viacom18 channels, Voot will also focus upon original content created only for the service.
