The prime-time news anchor Arnab Goswami has been elevated to president, news and editor-in-chief of Times Now and ET Now.
Previously, he was editor-in chief of Times Now.
In an internal mail, Vineet Jain, chairman, Times Group said that the decision to promote Goswami has been taken in order to reinforce the network's commitment to growth.
"Arnab has successfully achieved and maintained the leadership position for Times Now in English General News for the past several years. In addition to the Times Now editorial responsibility, he will now lead the ET Now editorial team with immediate effect," Jain said.
Meanwhile, the mail also mentioned about Jagdish Mulchandani's elevation to president, Finance and Distribution. Previously, he was CFO of Times Network.
Goswami is popularly known for anchoring the 9 pm show on Times Now, 'The Newshour'. The channel is a leading one in the genre with highest contribution of viewership through the Goswami-hosted show.
For the record, Goswami joined Times Television Network (now Times Network) in 2006 and has maintained a strong association with the company since then. He began his career in television news broadcast with NDTV 24x7 in 1995, where he anchored daily newscasts, and reporting for News Tonight, a programme that used to air on DD Metro.
