Turner International India (a Time Warner Company) will soon launch a new kids channel called Toonami in the country. Toonami is positioned as the "ultimate home of the superhero and a dedicated destination for action enthusiasts." The channel will feature animated action-adventure series.
Toonami was introduced as a programming block on the company's other kids channel – the oldest in the country – Cartoon Network, in 2001.
In India, Toonami complements Turner's kids entertainment portfolio which comprises Cartoon Network and Pogo. The channel is being distributed by Taj Television and will be available on the country's leading digital cable platforms across Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru.
