Yadav, who will now assume a new corporate role, replaces Anupam Vasudev, EVP, marketing, at STAR India.
STAR India has roped in Gayatri Yadav as marketing director. An IIM alumnus, Yadav replaces Anupam Vasudev, executive vice-president, marketing, STAR India.
In her new capacity, Yadav will report to Uday Shankar, chief executive officer, STAR India. Yadav will lead channel marketing, media planning and buying, presentation, network brand strategy, consumer insights, affiliate marketing, and events for the network.
Yadav has more than 18 years of experience in marketing. Her last assignment was as marketing director, General Mills India. She joined the company as the second employee and led the launch and development of a portfolio of food brands, most notably the flagship brand, Pillsbury Atta. She has been associated with the company for about 14 years.
Earlier, Yadav has also worked with Procter & Gamble India. She has a strong marketing functional experience across brand building, communication development, strategy planning, market research/consumer insight, new product development and launch support, and trade marketing/sales support.
Meanwhile, Vasudev will move to a new role within the network and work closely with Sanjay Gupta, chief operating officer, STAR India, with immediate effect.
Confirming the development to afaqs!, Gupta says, "Yadav will take over Vasudev's role as marketing director, while Vasudev will move into a new corporate role."
Even as there are chances that Vasudev may be given a role in business development, speculation is on that he may finally call it quits.
However, both Gupta and Vasudev declined to comment on the issue.
