Goafest 2011: Creative ABBY shortlists announced for Print, Film and Interactive Digital categories

Ogilvy India leads the pack in the film category with 34 shortlists, while Mudra has the maximum print entries shortlisted at 83.

As GoaFest 2011 draws near, the Creative ABBY shortlists for the three categories -- Film, Print and Interactive Digital Advertising -- have been announced. The film category has 105 shortlisted entries, while the print and interactive digital categories have 281 and 64 shortlists, respectively.

In the Film category, Ogilvy India leads with 34 shortlisted entries. The major campaigns that have been shortlisted include the agency's work for Vodafone (BlackBerry Boys, Vodafone Delights and the Zoozoo - Job Alerts, News Alerts, Flight Schedules and Train Schedules), Aegon Religare Life Insurance, adidas, the shadow campaign for Madhya Pradesh Tourism, and the Human Train campaign for the Indian Railways.

JWT India has 12 shortlists that include the Airtel Mobile re-branding campaign, Airtel DTH's regional language pack campaign, and the Squirrels commercial for Kit Kat.

Creativeland Asia features third, with nine shortlisted entries. The agency's much popular work for Frooti (Mango Surprise), the Aborigine campaign for LMN and the Fight Hunger, Fight Evil film for Hippo Baked Munchies feature among the shortlists.

Among McCann Erickson's entries, eight have been shortlisted. The significant campaigns among them include the Shadow film and the Invisible Bottle featuring Imran Khan for Coca Cola, as well as the Nescafe commercials.

Bates 141's work for MTV India and Fiat Punto (Thief) has fetched the agency six shortlists.

The shortlisted entries also include Mudra's Silent National Anthem film for Big Cinema and the Volkswagen Vento film (Crying Engineers). The agency has five shortlisted entries.

Contract Advertising's work on Cadbury Celebrations (Diwali films), American Tourister (Survive Istanbul, Survive the World) and Morphy Richards, and DraftFCB Ulka's campaigns for Tata Docomo have fetched the agencies five shortlists in the category.

The other agencies in the category include Leo Burnett (four shortlists), Capital Advertising (four shortlists), RK Swamy BBDO (three shortlists), ideas@work (three shortlists), Meridian (three shortlists), and Grey (two shortlists). Rediffusion Y&R and Stark Communications have one entry shortlisted each.

In the print category, Mudra has the maximum shortlists, with 83 entries that include work for Volkswagen, The Economic Times, Union Bank of India, Lonely Planet Magazine, Moov, and Electrolux among others.

Ogilvy India has 34 shortlisted entries in the category. The entries include Vodafone (Sanctuary Sinful Collection, Sanctuary Magic Beans), Pictionary campaign for Mattel Toys, Sour Marbels, and Pond's, among others.

McCann Erickson's 24 shortlists include campaigns such as Luminaries for Happydent, Shelves for Videocon, Amber Cigarette, and Amber fish for Chloromint, and Saffola Life's Times of India 'Young@Heart' innovation.

The other agencies include JWT India (20 shortlists), Creativeland Asia (17 shortlists), Bates 141 (17 shortlists), Out of the Box (12 shortlists), Grey (ten shortlists), Contract Advertising (nine shortlists), Euro RSCG (seven shortlists), ideas@work (six shortlists), Rediffusion Y&R (six shortlists), Umbrella Design (four shortlists), Alok Nanda and Company Communication (four shortlists), ELEVEN Brandworks (three shortlists), RK Swamy BBDO (two shortlists), The Communications Central (two shortlists), Crayons Advertising (one shortlist), Goldmine Advertising (one shortlist) and AMO Communications (one shortlist).

Interestingly, while TapRoot India has decided to stay away from Goafest this year, the agency's work for The Times of India 'Aman Ki Asha' campaign finds a place in the category submitted by Bennett, Coleman & Co,

In the Interactive Digital Advertising category, Webchutney has eight shortlists with Samsung Frrunch, MakeMyTrip.com (Amar Prem), Bharat Matrimony (Biwi Ho To Aisi), Airtel (Songcatcher Banner and Songcatcher Viral), and Saffola (Young at Heart application).

Mudra has seven shortlisted entries, among which the campaigns included are Idea Cellular (Idea Roadie Mobile Challenge 3.0, Idea Language Barrier and Use Mobile Save Paper), and Volkswagen (Innovation for Everyone) among others.

Hungama Digital Media has six shortlists that include PepsiCo's 7UP (You click, I dance), Tata Sky+ DTH (Tata Sky+ Mobile Access), and work on films such as Isi Life Mein, and Golmaal 3.

Interface Communications has five shortlisted entries in the category that include Mahindra Blues (www.mahindrablues.com), Tata Docomo (Tata Docomo 3G Life - The Day the Web got 3x slow and The Day YouTube got real slow, and Tata Docomo - a million fans monetised), and Kamasutra (Lounge).

The other agencies among the shortlisted entries in the category include JWT India (four shortlists), BC Web Wise (four shortlists), Law & Kenneth Digital (three shortlists), Interface Business Solutions (three shortlists), Interactive Avenues (two shortlists), D'Zine Garage (two shortlists), Ogilvyone Worldwide (two shortlists), Indigo Consulting (two shortlists), UFO Digital (two shortlists), Mindshare (two shortlists), Creativeland Asia (one shortlist), Maxus India (one shortlist), Quasar Media (one shortlist), Jack In The Box (one shortlist), Pinstorm (one shortlist), Resultrix (one shortlist), and Grandmother India Design (one shortlist).

The Media ABBY shortlists were announced last week. Out of the 133 entries shortlisted, Maxus leads with 33 shortlisted entries, followed by Mindshare and Lodestar UM with 19 entries each, and Mudra Max with 16 entries.

The other agencies with shortlisted work include Mediacom (11 shortlists), Creativeland Asia (five shortlists), OMD (four shortlists), Madison Media Infinity 1 (four shortlists), Madison Media Plus (four shortlists), MEC India (three shortlists), McCann Worldgroup (two shortlists), Percept Media (two shortlists), Mates Madison (two shortlists), RK Swamy Media Group (two shortlists), Isobar (two shortlists), Dialog Factory (two shortlists), while Starcom Worldwide, Lintas Media Group and TELiBrahma Convergent Communication have one shortlisted entry each.

Organised by Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and The Advertising Club Bombay (ACB), Goafest 2011 with new initiatives will be a five-day event from April 05-09, at the Zuri White Sands, a five-star resort in Varca, South Goa.
