The second edition of the award function has again helped the Star India channel topple Colors again.
Star India's second Hindi GEC Life OK has done it again! The channel has toppled Viacom18's Colors, thus making its way back to the third spot in the Hindi GECs hierarchy.
As per TAM data, (HSM, C&S, 4+), provided by a subscriber, Life OK added eyeballs to garner 358113 GVTs, in the week 26 of TAM. The channel had clocked 332990 GVTs, last week. The channel, this week had aired the second edition of Life OK Now Awards that helped push it to the third position.
Colors, meanwhile, is struggling as it lost marginal numbers to settle with 351407 in the week, as opposed to 351470 in the previous week. This is to note, that Life OK overtook Colors a week ago (in week 22 of TAM) as it aired the first edition of the monthly Bollywood awards property.
In the consecutive week, the Star India channel maintained its lead over Colors, courtesy the telecast of Salman Khan's Jai Ho. It is not just these properties. The channel's fiction shows that are continuing to do well and contribute to the channel's overall success.
Despite losing numbers, Star Plus maintained its lead in the genre with 659904 GVTs (last week 660737 GVTs). Six of the channel's fiction shows continue to be in the top 10 show's list in the genre.
At No.2 is Zee TV that concluded the week with 423066 GVTs, compared to 400337 GVTs in the previous week. The channel managed to push two of its shows to the top shows' chart.
Next in the ranking was Sony Entertainment Television that gained viewership to register 348733 GVTs in the week. The channel had recorded 297528 GVTs in the previous week. SAB TV, was at No. 6 with 279874 GVTs (last week 279412) and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah made it to the top shows' list.
Zee Anmol closed the week with 74732 GVTs (last week 71743) as Sahara One finished up with 18487 GVTs (last week 16338 GVTs). Star Plus' 'Saathiya Saath Nibhana' and 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' were the most watched show on Hindi GECs with average of 9650 TVTs and 9178 TVTs, respectively.
Zee TV's Jodha Akbar stood next with 7254 TVTs. SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah took the fourth spot in the hierarchy with 6895 TVTs. The next three spots are occupied by Star Plus' Mahabharat (6686 TVTs), Yeh Hai Mohabbatein (6007 TVTs) and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (5974 TVTs).
At No.8 is Colors' Comedy Nights with Kapil that got 5942 TVTs in the week ended June 28. The ninth spot is held by Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya that clocked 5436 TVTs as Star Plus' Veera settled at the tenth spot with 5090 TVTs.
For the record, TVT is television viewership in 1000s (TVR in 1000). It is the average number of individuals in '000s that are available at any given minute of a programme/day part that is under consideration. It captures growth in TV audiences in the country in absolute numbers. The TVR system, in contrast, works on percentages.
